I am thinking of getting the game battelfield 2. How is the internet gameplay and will my system run it. i have a ati 200 chipset.

I'm pretty sure you can run it, however Battlefield 2 is one of the worste shooters I've ever played. It lags when your ping is 15, and it can take upto 6 shots to kill someone even with a Sniper.

Accuracy and damage are both randomly generated too (between set parametres). Do not get it. Do not get Battlefield 2142 either.

I enjoy both a lot. I guess I haven't had the same problems as DizZa, so I would have to disagree with him. Wink

ok then. how about lag. will it severly lang on my system or what? i want it to run really smoth.

no, their is an art to battlefield 2 and 2142, it has been said that 2142 is not friendly to BF noobs. u CAN NOT fire full auto in battlefield u must do short controled bursts or your not going to hit anything. with sniper u have to account for what im guessing is a gravity effect, so aim it slight above their head to hit them. when they are running you have try and judge it corectly above and infront but its general qutie hard. BF2142 sniping is easier with the zeller but basicly the same method.

BF2 + BF2142 are great games and worth getting but their is an art to them. damage is not randomly generated like any other game their are hit boxes with set damage in them and depending on what weapon u are useing it will do differan t damage in the areas. and personaly i have never had much problem with ping and lag as long as u play on a server hosted in near u (in the same country for me)

BF series = good
Source games = good

I reccomend any, although the =SimV= clan primarily goes on BF2 Wink

LOL! Dude, I'm not a bf noob who gets a PKM and runs around firing in full auto at people 100 metres away. I was very good at CS:S, Americas Army, FEAR multiplayer, HL:2 dm, MOHAA, and Battlefield 1942. The problem with bf2, is the guns are WAY to weak, and WAY to inaccurate.

As for the hitboxes, yes, damage is randomly generated within the parameters of the part of body you hit them in. Speaking of hitboxes, hitboxes are extremely inaccurate. Take a look at youtube videos. Just search for bf2 hitbox there.

In bf2, 200 ping is pretty much unplayable. Try FEAR. 200 ping is perfectly fine, and the game won't skip a beat.

If you want a REAL shooter, go grab Battlefield 1942 and then install Desert Combat modification. THAT, is what Bf2 should of been.

I play BF2 a lot, its a good game. Remember theres always someone who doesn't like certain games, personally I ignore them ( Tongue

) get the game and decide for myself. If you have a friend who has it go to his house, make an account and see what you think. Also I'm pretty sure that your computer will run it smoothly (depending on server and internet connection) but as said above, get a video card Cheesy

Another thing to think about lag is its not always your computer, It could be a busy night on the internet which would cause it to lag or the server may just suck. I have a computer that can run BF2 full settings and still get 100fps but if the server sucks or my internet is slow I'll get a really laggy game.

I mostly play BF2 on singleplayer, or Multiplayer over a local network. You don't really need a high end computer to run it. It runs fairly well on my laptop with the settings on low Wink

Redorchestra osfront is an awesome game, just a shame that its not that popular because of the extreme realism in it :s but still a fun game none the less for those willing to learn how to play Cheesy

I played BF2 a lot.
Play BF2142 now.

I don't think the damamge is random as much as there is a random scattering effect on your aim. THis is delibrate to increase reaslism. The skew the shots, and how much it is skewed is based on the weapon.

As for 6 shots with a sniper rifle... I would wonder about your aim. (Don't take that as a flame, my aim sucks) In BF2, I saw people with 100% health get taken down regularly by a well placed head shot.

I don't play the standard BF2 anymore. I have been playing around a bit with the Project Reality mod.

My screen name is the same in the BF series games as it is here. If you see me holler out.

But if your name is red.. don't be upset if I shoot first...
