Thats great. The P-51 looks very realistic and the dark clouds behind the brightly lit aircraft makes for a good combination.

I'd agree with the realism..... perhaps a different angle though, rather than side on, so both wings were visible and the plane were diving or climbing - a bit more dynamic.  Also, the expanse of grey up above is a bit featureless... but you really brought out the quality of that metallic photoreal skin there, nice piece of work!

now I know there are a lot more flaws with this shot than the previous one, but you mean more of an angle like this right?

Holy crap, that plane looks amazing!

Yep something like that. Though I have to say that I'm a firm believer in posting a variety of interesting stuff, and not  conforming to 'the best possible' shot every time... for me now that needs a bit more of a background... but maybe that would distract from that stunning model, skin and the way you got it to look so real....

I agree with Krigl in that the first was too "side on" for my liking...but the skin is amazing Shocked!

Both pics show razor sharp aircraft images, if the attitudes and angles of the aircraft are supported by scenery and/or other less prominent visuals, you can more easily balance the two to work to-gether visually, in an infinite number of combinations. With only cloud as a background, the positioning of the aircraft becomes far more important in expressing your overall shot. The coloring and crispness are excellent in both these pics, a bit of drama would have helped though. I feel it's important for every screenshot to tell a story...tends to capture your viewers imagination.  Smiley
