im not having a go at you here, its just an observation on my part.  how many of these 'what is your favorite plane' polls need to be posted.  it seems every week there is a new one.  and ever single poll always misses out one important choice...  'other'.  what if my fav plane is not on that list?  also, what do people do with this information.  do you all use it for reasearch?  it would be nice to know what we are contributing to if you are.

Cool

(i did vote by btw)

I agree with Vavavoom. What are we contributing to here? We have enough threads about your favourite plane. And was there any reason to go spam three polls like this?   Huh Cool

Well, if you're including the 737 and 747 in their most general terms, they are not that much younger than the 10... Smiley

Now you're splitting hairs. The 737/747 are both still flying in large numbers today and both have updated, state of the art versions.

The VC10 is a 1960's aircraft that was dropped by most airlines before the end of the '70's.

Asking that question is a bit like asking; ooh, what's your favourite type of cancer? Shocked

They're all bad - some are just less bad than others. They're all just tubes full of people, with a pointy bit at the front and the back, and a cylinder hanging off each wing (With the exception of concorde, but that's not a modern one).

I suppose my answer, if I was pushed, would be the Airbus A380. Because that one isn't just a tube full of people. It's two tubes full of people, with two cylinders hanging off each wing Wink

Personally, I'm still partial to the widebody trijets:  L1011, DC10, MD11.

Those planes had character.

Lockheed Tristar. The Busses are fat wales that eat gas like a american at mcdonalds. The Boeings are to generic. Oh and I also like the CRJ 40.

sorry I'm just not in a good mood with an F-15 crashing this week.

Tbh I wouldn't call the Tristar modern. Great plane, but outdated.

My favorite airliner is the DC-10 at this point, but, seeing as it is not in production anymore...

My favorite is the Airbus A340.

But that's isn't modern... Tongue Wink

Quite like both the Tristar and the VC10 (nearly modern Grin). Like the A330 and A340 - very graceful - sadly a sentiment wich can't be appiled to the 767, although the 777 was an improvement... Smiley
