Well, I really like the background, lovely sky scape. A few issues I have with the Mustangs though. First thing I notice is the lack of (noticeable at least) prop circles which takes a bit away from it for me. Also, I believe the cloud is too static, a little blur on it would have just livened up the shot a bit and shown a sense of motion. Finally, and this is a nit pick, I don't like the inclusion of vortices, yes the 'Tang did do it, but it doesn't fit the situation in my book.
Still a nice piece of work though

Like this? The only thing is I think it looked more "peaceful" without the motion blur

the first one is great love it
the second one the prop circles are too flat and ruin it a bit for me, if you are using photoshop you can change the perspective in edit/transform

I don't think you should blur the clouds. I think you should change the placement of the aircraft to get a better composition and thus more 'movement' in your shot. Read
these two tutorials
for more tips on composition. The props are a second problem, but nothing you can't fix. Read
this tutorial
about adding props.
There ya go! A little more work and this could become a masterpiece...

Ironically, I'm in the minority when I say I certainly prefer that second shot, I guess it's just down to my preference of real action to static images. Although I have to agree with the comment about the props not looking quite right.
