Only ever found one trojan on my PC. The only time I thought I ever had a virus turned out to be my HDD imploding. So, yeah. Bite me. Grin

Firefox, because it can be configured so extensively.

It may be more secure than IE but if you practice safe surfing you shouldn't have a problem with either (or with Opera.)

I might have gone with Opera but it used to be payware.  By the time they got around to making it free I had been using Firefox and its ancestors for too long to change.

I thought there'd always been a free version of Opera. I used it for a while about five years ago and all there was was a small advert up in the top corner.

Yes, there was always a free version. It had a small advert in the corner that the paid version (about $10) didn't have.

It was enough of an annoyance for me to avoid the browser.

At the same time Phoenix (FF ancestor) was free.

I didn't mind the advert. I find more of the sigs round here to be of far greater annoyance. However, the whole browser its self didn't really impress me enough to bother fixing it when it stopped working. I just went back to IE.

I use the Maxthon browser. It's a IE6 clone but it has some cool things like tabbed browsing, different skins and such. I've been using it for years now. Don't want or need anything else. And it's free.
