Hi all,

I may be wrong, but I think I noticed something I was not aware was included in FSX.
I was going around in the HAMA Stallwart, this 6x6 military truck, just for fun and trying to enjoy those mountain roads. Everything was going fine, then suddently I came across a part of the scenery that was full of snow on the ground.

There, the truck began to be very difficult to control, it would hardly turn and it was almost impossible to brake, making any downhills a real suicide.

Does FSX really makes a difference between kinds of grounds, slippery or not ? I don't remember seeing that in FS9.
I could not test on runways to see the difference between dry, wet and icy, did anybody notice anything ?

PS: of course, FSX does not make any difference between the "ground" and the road, I mean that FSX does not recognize that the road is actually like tarmac, and just acts as if the road wasn't there. A pity, this would be helpfull for emergency landings on roads Smiley

I believe, based on flying the Denali Supply mission, that FSX does indeed distinguish between icy conditions, wet, and dry conditions.

Yep, there has been a guy in another forum who measured braking distances on dry, wet and icy runways and guess what - there really is a difference.

Yup, i can confirm that. On very icy runways, you can do nice slides also (willing or not).
