Whats with the fuel truck ?

This guy says you are no.1 in line for fuel. Cool

You see the truck headin your way then it just stops. Waits a bit then moves a bit more towards you, then stops again. Waits then moves another 3 metres your way and so on and so on......

What a teaser.....

Eventually he makes it - to top me up ???

Anyone know why the guy has so many breaks on the way ????

Oh and it doesn't seem to be traffic, cause he is real lonesome on the tarmac for the last 250 metres?????

I have the same problem, the fuel truck starts to move in my direction, then stops, and finally returns to its original position... very strange...
I have tryed it at only one airport, though...

My Explanation:

They are American drivers, so they were taught to drive on the left side of the vehicle, and when on large smooth surfaces such as tarmacs, aprons, Wal-mart parking lots, they drive sporatically (i have witnessed it) so when faced with driving on the right side of the vehicle they get disoriented and can no longer go 40mph and slide the truck in sideways to the parking spot.

The only reason I was going 40mph into that parking spot... like I told you.... was that darn old lady got caught under the wheel.... which caused me to slow down...

I had that same problem.  If you shut down your engines (CTL+Shift+F1) the fuel truck will come to your plane and give you fuel faster and more often than if the engines are on.  I think it might be a bug.  If I turn my engines off before I call for the fuel truck, the fuel truck doesn't dilly dally and always refuels me.

Same here! I was at Laguardia in a 737 at the gate, I called for fuel and I saw him drive from a hanger then drive around to the gate zone then just came to a stop and didn't move a budge! Another M$ bug, I think they enjoy driving us nuts!

I think it's the same reason why AI planes stop when you cross in front of them.

It's just to make it "realistic".

I had this problem and found out, I wasn't lined up perfectly with the gate, so, I was in his way. I had to remove to have him come forward the rest off the way.

The only time a fuel truck came to me with no stops was at TNCM in the default CRJ-700. All other times, it did the same thing that's happening to you guys.

NOTE: I'm using the Deluxe Edition.

Same happens to me. I think he's related to all those sim-people who died back in 98'(and 2002) when I first started flying these simulators  Roll Eyes

As some one who fueled aircraft for almost 2 years. I can attest that this is realisitc. when approaching an aircraft for refueling you are supposed to check your brakes 2 or 3 times while approaching the aircraft. It sounds like FSX is being extra cautious tho.
