CFS2 seems to load fine, but when finished I hit PLAY and  get the LOADING page and then It just seems to hang then blik off.
Commputer is an Emachines T6520  AMD3400+ 1Gig RAM 200Gig HD xfx GeForce 7600GT. This sim runs great on a older Emachines T2682 With a Intel processor.

I still think its the Video card. It also could be the the latest service pack update. The only way to know is by changing your video card with your wife"s PC video card and see if that works. Had the same problem with my PC with EAW. After I install the Service pack 2 it would not install it any more. You will only find out by trail and error.

I hope I have been helpful!

Whit that rig, cfs2 should run like ..
Have you got cfs2 installed before on this rig? (Remember to delete the remainding folder in msgame)
Do you have a reg cleaner? (ccleaner, regcleaner, regmechanic)
How do your cd look?
And just like james007 said, i would take a good look at the video card driver.
Try and install the original driver that came with the card. (After uninstalling any video drivers you got now).

Thanks for the replies.
I think James007  reference  to trial and error may be my best option.
I've had this on two other computers with no problems. Both running XP SP2.
This one just happens to have windows media center edition. Basically  XP Professional, Service Pack 2 with the media cra_ added in. Tried running CFS2 with the onboard video (ATI 200) before adding new card with the same results. Tried clean boot,no luck. Tried turning off firewall,No luck Updated EVERY driver listed in hardware manager,No luck. I just think it's a glitch in the OS that I've not figured out yet.
O, did I mention that the reason I have this computer(was my wifes Xmas gift last year) was her Photo Explosion Deluxe program WOULD NOT PLAY. It should play like gangbusters on this setup but so far it just won't.  So I'll keep cusing and trying till I get it going.
Still excepting any and all advice. CFS2 Pilots DONT GIVE UP.
Thanks again for the help

OK Got her to play.
Reading on one of the microsoft gamer sights that some microsoft games have trouble reading from the disk  due to some hardware configs. I had downloaded a no crack .EXE file so I thought I'd try that and Bang it started, well almost. It was half screen. After jumping through a TON of hoop's got it going with one hickup I have failed to fix. When I click FLYNOW I get a black screen except for the tactical screen. I have to go to windows mode and set the view settings manually. Now this is EVERY time i hit FLYNOW so after EVERY flight I have to do the same thing. I assume there is a file somewhere that saves these settins that is ether missing or corrupted.
But otherwise it runs flawless now. Got any ideas on this last hickup?
Thanks James007 and kilotango for your assistance.

I would not worry to much about it if I where you. Perhaps you should make a secound copy in a seperate Folder through the copy and paste maneuvre and fool arould with the copy until you can figure it out.I use to think CD lasted a life time. The reality is that it does not. Perhaps your CFS2 copy is not holding on to its information correctly do to aging. Maybe its time to buy a new copy.

Its been a pleasure trying help in this and in any other matter. We all can laern from each other.
