The little Factory Website has more carriers for this Sim. This Sim has the most diverse and quantity of ships of any aviation Sim that I know. Here they are:http://www.geocities.jp/mtyjr101/original_1.html

You need to go to page 2 to find them.

I want to thank that Website owner!

Enjoy

I've replaced all the defult carriers in the stock missions and campaigns with the proper add-on carriers.  It does wonders for immersion.  When I fly the O'Hare Aces mission, it does my heart good to see myself saving the actuall Lexington rather than what purports to be the Lady Lex but is actually the stock Enterprise.

Temporary upload problems have prevented new download files from being posted on Colin's Shipyard, but there are a large number of fine ships already there.....including the new USS Laffey DD and the CVE USS Sicily.   Roll Eyes

Colin's carriers are built to scale and therefore a real challenge for carrier landings compared to the double-wide stock models. Shocked

For those who want realistic AAA protection for their task groups, the USS Laffey at Colin's Shipyard(see link above) is your baby.  Put a couple of them flanking your carrier and watch the fireworks during an enemy air attack.
...

His carriers are sporting fairly standard CFS2 AAA.

BTW the USS Laffey, The Ship That Would Not Die, took a real beating from the kamikazes as a radar picket in WWII, yet survived to serve into the 60s.  She resides today a Patriot's Point Naval Museum in Charleston Harbor alongside the Essex class Yorktown.  She was totally restored by the surviving members of her crew and their families over a number of years.  I was privileged to witness this process back in the 80's and 90's.

My Fathers ship (he ran the fire control computer) DM-28 USS Tolman, same class as the USS Laffey, also served on picket duty off Okinawa during the battle.  This picture was taken off Okinawa during a typhoon.

Tolman originally numbered DD-740 was one of three or so Sumner Class 2200ton destroyers that were converted to mine layers & was re-numbered to DM-28.

It was credited with 8 Japanese PT boats killed in a single action 1 vs. 8  as well as 5 aircraft (one a Betty) over a series of Kamikaze attacks..
