Colin over at Fox Four has released his newest creation.......an original Essex class carrier.  There are three versions CV21 Boxer, CV32 Leyte and CV45 Valley Forge.  These are circa 1950 for Korea, but can be used in WWII.  I have just uploaded all three to SimV, but do not know how soon they will showup in the downloads.   And I suppose Pete will put them in CFS2/MISC.  But you can download them at this location: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=32458   Wink

There are some nice screenshots there as well.

This is by far the most realistic Essex ever produced, yet the poly-count is low enough to give reasonable framerates.  Colin is too modest to publicize this fine addition to CFS2, but I'm blabbering it far and wide.

Upload problems with the Fox Four site have temporarily prevented them from being posted on Fox Four/Colin's Shipyard.  Sad

Roll EyesYou can now get all three downloads(CV21 Boxer, CV32 Leyte and CV34 Valley Forge) at CG's Shipyard on the Fox Four site:

http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2shipyard.htm

They were posted on SimV/CFS2/MISC Page 13, but I think they're gone now.   The downloads were fine, but the descriptions were not correct. Embarrassed

Cry No, she's not mine, but belongs to a lifelong friend, who allows me to enjoy her company occasionally...going to be doing a short x-country later this month Tennessee-Indiana-Kentucky.  (I know why you miss your Dad's.)  Unlike the up-engined SuperSwifts that one sees more frequently, the original is a smooth, relaxing dream to fly.  Cruising at 130kts, she is responsive, gentle and forgiving.  (She does 'float' like a Cessna on landing, and though she is a taildragger, she 'hates' a three-point landing...gotta put her down on the main gear and let the tail settle.  This one is a restored 1948 model and has very few non-stock features: GPS and updated radios, mechanical gear position indicators, an extended range tank and the "small wheels" modification to her retractable gear.  She carries her original registration number N711E....you won't see many still flying with one that low.   And she draws a crowd wherever she lands.  I'm a little off-topic here, but if you'd like, I'll send you some closeups of her.  Just PM me, if you would like to see them.  They just don't make planes with lines like the Swift anymore....all those curves would cost too much today.  She was made at the Globe-Temco plant in Texas as a project to keep the plant open post WWII, when the license to build the P-51 ran out.  The production line was already in place to produce her, so she was affordable back then.
