Aliasing interior models.... (Read 242 times)

Has anyone ever sucessfully aliased a default aicraft's interior model to an add-on aircraft?
I tried it without sucess with POSKY's 736/7.

Copied all necessary files (textures, panel, interior model) over and put the line "interior=B737_800_interior" into the model.cfg.

The plane appears fine in the plane selection view, but in-gam, both VC and exterior are simply invisible.

When I uncomment the "interior=" line, the model works perfectly again - just without VC.

Strange stuff.

I tried it with the same result. I suspect the main model has to be tagged in some way for it to work.

PS. The logical step would be to try swapping interior models on the default aircraft.

Yeah, gonna try to take a look at the model files in a hex editor and see if I can edit them somehow.

The interior and exterior models have to be made with the FS-X modelling tools.  From what I've seen, you cannot take a VC-less FS9 exterior model and put it with a 'new'  interior model.

...and since .mdl files are locked, you can't open them again to "convert" them to FSX models. Dang!
