Is there a graphic setting to display the "heat" I have seen the effect in some videos jsut wondering if it added in the video editing or maybe an effect in the game.

Not that I know of, some add-on planes have it naturally.  The only plane in fsx I've seen it with normally is the learjet

To display the heat ?
You mean, the heat blur effect ? So far, only LOMAC is able to display it, and FSX is not... or did I miss anything ? Never saw it on any non-edited screenshots so far.

Martyn Becker  (microlite) released a heat haze addon.  Look in the effects library here, I think.  Not sure if it works witrh FSX....but it does for fs2004.

best,

Make note, from what I noticed, the smoke and heat effects that work in fs9, dont seem to line up on the engines in fsx

Mine! (Thanks for the plug, John!)

The effects look slightly different in FS2002 and FS9, so I have no idea what they will look like in FSX, as I won't be getting it anytime soon.

Unfortunate to hear that the locations may be off in FSX - you'd have to re-set them manually if this is the case, but this would be the same for any package developed with FS9 in mind. The method is in the manual.

Happy Christmas everybody!

Wink
