Ok this might sound ridiculous but here's what's probably a very easy question.  Once I've created what I want to in FSSC, how to I import it into Flight Sim?  How do you create a BGL file?  I've looked through the help topics but I can't seem to be able to find this. Roll Eyes Undecided

Thank you so much!

It's a long time since I've done this but it should be straightforward enough. Save your project then click File/Export Scenery Wizard. Direct the Base Location & Destination to the desired folders & click OK. (There are also 3 export options - Auto, Scenery only & Scenery + AFD.) I would normally create a destination folder to export my own scenery to.

WEEEEEEEEEEELL...I saved it as a BGL file...thanks Hagar Wink.  It's in an active scenery folder (yes, I'm sure the folder is active and all that Grin).  But nothing is showing up Undecided Cry.  Any ideas why not?

Right, we seem to be getting somewhere. If you're exporting the BGL files to an activated folder you should see it being added to the database when you next start the sim. You didn't say which version of CFS/FS you're creating this scenery for. This is important. The FSSC AFD BGL will work in CFS2 or FS2002 but not FS9. I'll have to refresh the old grey cells but I think you can add an entry that displays in the "Search addon-scenery" option on the FS9 Airport menu. Proper menu entries can be added with Afcad.

Thanks alot for helping Hagar.

I'm using FS9.  However, I'm not creating an airport.  I use AFCAD for airports.  I'm trying to place mountains, race markers, etc.

Any ideas for this Huh.

Thanks again! Grin

I'm not sure FSSC is ideal for mountains. Terrain mesh & landclass would be better for that. Things have changed a lot since FS9 was released. I'm not familiar with all the new methods & utilities.

For conventional scenery created with FSSC make sure you added a Flatten area. Your new signs & similar scenery objects might be there but below the default mesh.

That's probably true, but what would I use for this?  Sorry if I sound incompetent, I'm working on my first major scenery project Lips Sealed.

I was trying to use FSSC because Congo's Canyons and some things like that were made with it!  Just to let you know, what I'm trying to do is create a race course for a Star Wars scenery I'm creating (like thin mountains on either side with bumps and all that to make it harder).

I've not tried it in FS but it should be possible to do what you want with FSSC. Instead of trying to create the mountains experiment with the Flat Area feature & try carving a gorge into the default terrain.
