Hello please excuse this question but I'm new to Flight Simming.

I want to download a Mesh.

I want to have the most detailed Meshes so I thought I download first:

FSX Scenery--World Wide Coverage SRTM 3, version 2, mesh of Africa.

than

FSX USA West Coast 10 M Terrain Mesh Series

than

FSX Hawaii 10m Terrain Mesh - Isnt this part of the USA 10m Terrain Mesh?

than

FSX Central America - Caribbean - South America 76M Terrain mesh
FSX FSX World Wide SRTM 38M Mesh Europe

than

FSX Alps 38m Terrain Mesh. Arent these files already included in the Europe files? How is this 38m different from the Europe file?

FSX France 38 m Terrain Mesh Version 3.  Arent these files already included in the Europe files? How is this 38m different from the Europe file?

Greetings
Thx

seems like you´ve got yourself some redundant files Wink

i´m not sure how this works in FSX, but in FS9 you´d manage those things from the scenery library, where you could set their priority level, so a scenery with higher priority overrides the ones below, case they overlap...

...or i might totally wrong Tongue

i´d say DL ´em all, but i´ve seen the size of those files... if you´re really in doubt, don´t get the redundant files just now, go for the others, which seem to cover a wider area.

yeh same principal as FS9, slap em into the add on scenery folder then use the scenery library to add them to your sim.

to be safe with the meshes, download the continents first, install them, then try the more specific regions .

Alright thanks alot.

I will add them into my Add On Scenery Library.

But what about the differences of these Add-Ons? I'm installing a Europe Mesh with 38m resolution, and then install the Austrian Alps over it, which does also have 38m resolution? So what is different with it?

Europe Mesh should cover the same area as the France and Alps Add On in the same resolution? So this is confusing for me

Most of the meshes you mentioned are made by the same group here is a link to their website. You should be able to find out more about the coverage area of each.
