Hi All

I have installed some scenery  but for some reason the afcads are not working as I can not find them in the airport id list. I know that the scenery is working.
I placed the afacds into the scenery folder of the main addon scenery folder but I still can't get the afcads to show up anyone have any ideas ?

Cheers

Oooooooooooooook.  Hmmmmm.  You say that you know the scenery is working?  How do you know this if you can't find the airports?

As long as our Addon Scenery folder is activated (which it is by default), they should show up.  If you do know that the scenery is working, I would try going into AFCAD and finding the airports (if you know the codes).  That way, you would be able to find the name country, state, city, etc. that the airport is located in.

Let me know if that works Wink.

I slewed to the locations where the scenery is so they are there but not showing up in the airport id list?

Ok, so obviously they are working then.

Now did you do the other step I suggested?  Go into AFCAD, open one of the airports, and double-click anywhere.  This brings up a box with all the info about the airport.  It should display everything and you can double-check that they are all filled out.

If this doesn't work, we'll have to think of something else.

Hmmm they aren't listed?

Ok I'm not sure so how about this - let me know the dowload name and where you got if from and I'll try it myself.  Then maybe we'll get somewhere Wink.

Okay I'm almost certain I know what's wrong.  When you d/l these files, you see that they each have a "Scenery" and "Texture" folder.  They also have a readme and whatever.

But you see that they also have another file, a BGL.  In ranainui.zip it is called "AF2_RNUI" and in icebergv2update.zip it is called "AF2_NIC2".  These are the AFCAD files for the airports.  You can tell because they are in the form of "AF2_xxxx".  What you have to do to make the AFCADS work is to put these two files inside their respective Scenery folders (or any active scenery folder for that matter).  Tried it and it works fine for me Cool Wink.  I have no clue why the author didn't just put them inside those folders to begin with Huh.

Hope that works.

Hi Kevin
Thanks for all your help, I have another question you may be able to help me with.
When I go to that location the helicopter does not appear on the helipad, but to the side of the boat and on the water.
I have tried to move the the location using AFCAD but I can't seem to get the helicopters to appear dead on the helipad
Is there any way to alter this

Cheers

Simply enter in FS, in your helicopter and slew ON THE VERY SPOT you want to start, then define/move a start location there, using the crosshair representing your plane/helo in AFCAD.

Nota Bene:
Your plane/helo projects a crosshair in AFCAD only if you have FSUIPC installed. The basic freeware one is enough for this, no reason to run to buy it.

I looked into this and I see what your problem is.  There is no hard surface on the top of the boat, so it is impossible for you to "land" on it (or start from it).

I'll try to create a landable surface for you if you'd like but it will be a few days before I get the chance.
