I got the game. It is now uninstalled and stowed in the garage. It is primitive and it's worth ten bucks. I'm still playing CFS Europe.

Franky_4_Finger do not listen to Bias people. Pacific Fighter is a very good Sim. Not a perfect Sim but a very good Sim never the less.  Woodlouse2002 is very Bias toward CFS3 and hates the Pacific Theater. As for the best one for maps you have to go to CFS2 with its World map upgraded through its Mission Builder.

The only recommendation is if you buy it you should also buy Forgotten Batle /Ace and merge it. As for patchest you get them in their Official Website. They are supper easy to install. It come with a self installer.

CFS2 and CFS3 are very good Sims but so is this one. They are just different flavors to the same meal. Do not let anyone persaive you differntly. Buy it and Merge it and then you tell me.

It also have a Munchurian addon comming soon with more maps in it.

For 10 Dollars go cannot go wrong.

LOMAC I cannot give you a opinion since I have never flown with it.

James, I don't hate the Pacific Theatre. And I like to think that i'm not all that bias. In my mind there has to be a reason why CFS3 is still on sale for £30 while IL2 and co are being flogged for a tenner in bargain bins and multipacks. It depends whether you want a game to be exciting and playable for years or for months. All IL2 has going for it is eye candy. Once you get past that then it becomes a very bland game indeed.

If anyone would pay attention to my earlier post I tell you PF by itself sucks.
You need the complete IL2 series then you won't find a combat sim that can compare, not even CFS.

Woodlouse2002 with all due respect its all matter of opinion. But you would agree with me that you do not care one bit about the Pacific Theater. CFS3 is a fine Sim and so is CFS2  but Pacific Fighter is also not that that bad. No not a perfect Sim but so is CFS3 and out of the box Pacific Fighter was much better Sim. It has taken years and many addon by its wonderful community to make CFS3 a competative Sim. Its all about what you want out of a Sim. I have seen CFS3 sold for 10:00 Dollars or less and been in the store shielf for a long time without takers. I think you are better of buying and flying with all of them CFS2,CFS3 and Pacific Fighter Merge and fly as you like . In Western Europe or in the Eastern Front or perhaps in the Pacific Theater with whatever Sim you prefer at the moment you want to fly.

Woodlouse2002 Have a great Christmas!

This has been only a opnion

Well, i got my gift card and i bought my sims. CFS3 is superb, nothing more need be said about that. With LOMAC it looks like i have alot of learning to do. I downloaded the manual and keycards from the LOMAC site and i'll be printing the keycards tomorrow(no paper at all in the 3 pack). PF looks great but i'm a little disappointed that you can't do torpedo attacks. Looks like i'll have to keep CFS2 installed after all. Roll Eyes

PS LOMAC only had one patch but the six PF patches took a nice chunk out of my day. Well, once it's done it's done i guess. Got them backed up just in case. Wink

Just be certain to install all those PF patches in the correct order Wink
The patches are the reason I recommend to others to buy the newly released IL2 1946 Wink

Sorry to jump into this kinda late...I'm trying to be a bit more social in the forums.  Grin

Pacific Fighters is a great...shall I call it a sim or a game...lets go with sim.  I've prefered it over CFS3...in fact the whole IL-2 series up to PF is great...and it has a strong on-line following.  If you plan on getting it (which you can find pretty cheap these days) just be aware that the patching process is a pain in the rear....especially if you are planning on merging it with the IL2 series...it can get complicated and take up a lot of time.  Wink

On another note, LOMAC is pretty cool also but is can be a hard game to play...very intense controls although I think you can "dumb" it down a bit.

Just my two cents.... Cheesy
