I have been flying ms flight sim since the ol apple 2 c, green screen model.  I have always flown with a joystick vs a yoke as I enjoy flying combat aircraft and other flight simulators.  I have been a private pilot for 20 years now and I think having the yoke and rudder pedals would make FSX alot more realistic.  I have been eye balling the CH Yoke...please comment on pro's and con's of the joystick vs the yoke.  Thanks!

First thing I'd advise.. is that getting a yoke means getting pedals too. Flying with auto-rudder "on" defeats the whole purpose... not to mention that realistic, cross-control, cross-wind landings are impossible with just a yoke. And even with a joystick, you miss a lot without the pedals. As far as yoke vs joystic ?  I guess it depends on the plane. Obviously a yoke isn't good for fighter-type planes..  and a joystick really takes away from the "feel" of rolling in/out of turns in a 172  Wink

I think one of the best features of the CH yoke.. is that you have the  throttle/props/mixture levers  Cheesy

As for CH ?   Great product !

A set of CH Yoke and Pedals will be the best investment you make for simming Wink

I agree with said above, though it may get a little sticky, though you can solve that with silicon spray, they explain it on the website.

I also have the Throttle Quadrant. ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY for twin recip aircraft. I won't fly without it anymore. I love the pulsating sound of the engines out of sync when I don't advance the throttles exactly in sync. I'm getting better at it, but it still happens during take-off and large throttle/prop/mixture setting changes. I use my 3 levers on the yoke for: Elevator Trim, Spilers and Flaps. Works great. You also get a bunch of switches to bind to commands. I hardly use my keyboard anymore when flying the FSD Navajo (can't wait til they update it for FSX).
