Hi, I'll give you an outline prior to these error messages I am receiving when I reinstall FSX (please note I have a VALID copy of FSX with my 2nd keycode in use).

OK well, I was playing FSX, and stupid as I was I kept minimizing the game to chat on MSN. Luckily I finished my flight.. but after it, Windows crashed. It came up in a full sized error screen (black or blue background, I can't remember) with a lot of text.. I guess a major error occured. I restart my comp and a message came up saying something on the lines of: "Windows has just recovered from a serious error." I guess it couldn't handle the minimization.. it (the game) was getting a bit laggy too.

Now, I tried launching FSX. It came up with an error saying an application of the game wasn't installed properly, the keycode cannot be activated properly - please reinstall or contact support - the game will now run in trial version. I tried reinstalling using the repair tool, it didn't work. So then I fully uninstalled it and tried to install FSX again. At the very end of the installation (Registering fonts phase) it came up with the error messages you see above.

What can I do? Sad

NOTE: I HAVE all the latest Windows Updates (I updated Windows Installer) and the latest DX driver. I have searched the C: drive for errors, I have defragmented it, ran full virus scans and used CCleaner. I haven't edited any files on the FSX CDs too.

Please help, thanks Smiley

I would try doing a system restore to before you originally installed FSX before doing anything else. That's what it's for  Wink

OK thanks for your replies, it can't be my hard drive because it is completely new (so is the rest of my computer) and it has like 300GB of space. I have system32 if that's what your asking?  8)

I'll try system restore..
