I am missing textures on most AC I have imported in to FX. This includes my project AI Aircraft....sometimes. I have the latest forceware drivers. I am guessing it my be my card (see below). The default planes show up ok though.

Other that and getting all the reduced size textures I could find I am somewhat happy with it. I flew by Niagra falls and was stunned to HEAR the water falls

Ya gotta love a guy who answers his own posts  Cheesy

IMO, your post is notable for what it does not contain
The post contains no information upon which anyone (me) could even begin to address your concerns.
What I would like to see is:
1.) which sim are the aircraft texture files for -- 9 or X
2.) what format are the files in -- .dds or DXT (Extended)
3.) how were the aircraft installed into FSX -- there's a couple of different ways

I presumed you copied&pasted FS9 PAI aircraft folders into FSX. Remember: not all AI planes show up in the FS9 Aircraft List; they only appear when assigned by a flightplan . . . FSX? . . . who knows?

1) they are from FS9
2) ummm...iyesdontknowyasure Grin
3) Made a folder in the main menu called FS9planes

The one I can use as an example is Mike Stone A380. No texures. I am just wondering if this planes should be put in the FSX plane folder

Thats the thread where I got the idea to use the plane. I am guessing that even though it woorked in FS9, that I need to upgrade the Video card

Thanks for the additional info
When I added an FS9 plane to FSX I simply copied&pasted  the entire FS9 Mooney_Bravo Folder into SimObject/Airplanes and it worked with all gauges showing.

If your installed FS9 model shows up sans textures you must be doing something right. If FSX is treating the model as an FSX-model, then the textures must use mipmaps -- be they Extended BMP or .DDS

I know this is not very helpful to your problem.

It may be of interest to note the FS9 Default Mooney_Bravo textures will fit right on (that is, show up,) the FSX Default Mooney_Bravo (provided they are DXT3 and were saved with mipmaps). Now that is cool.

P.S. Jake looks like a friend indeed
