Here's the deal...

I have had FSX (Deluxe) for a little over a week now.  I am still learning about features and love the change from FS9.  I have some questions since this is somewhat new to me.  I GREATLY APOLOGISE TO ALL PERSONS READING MY POST WITH AN IQ OF 2.7 POINTS OR HIGHER.   Lips Sealed

Question 1:  Under what conditions does the jetway move up to your plane?

and...

Question 2:  What is the directory(ies) for installing aircraft, panels, etc.?

Thanks again.  I'll answer all questions to the best of my ability.  I was having trouble with installs.

2.) SimObjects folder

Unless you create a different folder and add to in the FSX.cfg .

If you want to install an FS9 model with an auto installer, this may actually be better.

You'd create your "Aircraft"  folder within the basic FS-X folder, and then point your installation there.

Of course, you need to add a " SimObject=...." in the FSX.cfg file.  Check one of the other "sticky?" threads here.

If anyone can believe Microsoft they claim if one's FSX plane is parked at the Gate, the jetway will move into place using CTRL+J. I've never seen it myself and have tried it numerous times at different airports.

Somewhere I seem to remember reading a posting that said it only works if you have certain settings on very high levels....... which means only those with mega machines will likely get that feature.

But I do not remember where I read it...... and certainly do not know if it is TRUE anyway.

But try increasing your sim's settings and try it again and see if it works...... even if framerates suffer badly.  Than at least you'll know.

best,

.............john

Hm, thought this was fairly common. But anyhow, heres the link

Thats if you have trouble after turning on "Advanced Animations" and then trying it

yes the jetways DO move, yes some video cards do NOT support it. I forgot which types however,  make shure settings have advanced animations, and scenery complexity needs to be on very dense i believe.
