In the map view in FS-9, you can change the heading and the little AC graphic would trun to correspond to the new heading.

However, in FSX when changing the heading, the AC graphic does not change to reflect it.

It  does change when you hit the OK button but, then you can only see it for a fraction of a second which is totally worthless.

If this is a bug, it only seves to again illustrate just how superficially it was BETA tested.

Joe, this is tiresome.  In fact that particular 'bug' was reported, and validated/confirmed by 321 other beta testers.  Obviously ACES didn't consider it a high enough priority to schedule a 'fix.'

The "job" of beta testers is to identify and report 'bugs' and other 'problems."  After that is done, it's up to the prioritization team at ACES to take action.  Simply because a 'bug' is reported does not mean it gets fixed.

Similarly, just because there are bugs in the release does not "prove" that they were unreported!

Whoa, that let's me off the hook  Smiley
Anyway, check out the FSX FlightPlanner whereby one can drag the red course-line to
any point
and FSX will create a waypoint for it -- complete with GPS coordinates.

The only downside is the format is not compatible with FS9. Now that's serious betatesting!

I did not say the bug was unreported. How can I say that with any certainty?

What I can say is that MS ignored this bug along with others!

What kind of BETA testing pogram is it when bugs are ignored that are reported by BETA testers?
A haphazzard and superficial one in my book.

The question that begs to be asked is, how many other flaws were ignored because it was not considered important enought to fix.
Or, is the ACES team overworked, overwhelmed, and in over its head?

BTW, the ac icon in the map view not functioning properly is not important? The icon is there for a specific purpose and absolutly should function properly.

One has to really wonder what ACES' prorities are.
It really seems the only priorty is meeting a sales deadline and letting the consumers do the final BETA testing.

I'm not totaly blaming ACES as it now seems that they were indeed understaffed and over worked.
