ok people ive got a little rant to have, just something that ahs been bugging me for a while and i feel i need to clarify some things

FSX will not give you the same level of performance as FS9 on the same hardware simply because its a totaly differant game, just because they are both called flight simulator does not mean you will be able to have the sliders in the same place on FSX as you did on FS9, the game in general is alot more complex, and as a result requires better hardware to run it. its like saying i could run battlefield 1942 max settings but i cnt run battlefield 2142 maxed out, thast stupid it has the same name!, for christ sake FS9 and FSX are 2 years apart in technology ofcourse its going to differ.
several people here seem to have this impression that just because they had sliders to the right in FS9 means they can in FSX, IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT!!!!
Stop bi****ing about airfield scenery... you cant expect everything to be as it is in real life, jsut because some airport has a buidling their on the sim that was knocked down 5 years ago in real life, who cares, are the runways in the right direction..... is it where it should be! its a bloomin miracle that a company has decided to try somethign as ambitious as creating a flyable enviroment that covers the entire Globe! we get the major cities filled in but its not gonna have every bloomin city and town is it!
Also if you are unhappy with your FSX performance on a clean install have you tried any tweaks to your game? played around a little with the cfg, get some of the replcaement textures you actualy cant notice the differance between the textre changes it jsut frees up memory.
rant over

if you come on here saying this is my FSX currently on theses specs and these settings (giving us a screenie of the main settings page and maybe an ingame one) the people here will be more than willing to help you inclduing me and many others who have got a good FSX performance and enjoy it mroe than FS9.

sorry to rant on but its just been annoying me recently to read the same thing over and over!

Relax John, it's only a game and we're just doing it for the fun . . . right?  Grin

"FS9 and FSX are 2 years apart in technology"
Actually, it's been three-years-two-months since FS9 was released July 29, 2003.

Like I said: What else can you buy for 62 bucks?

And who might these people be? I've not heard anyone complain because they can't have FSX on full settings and still get the same performance they do in FS9.

Uh, tweek, I've seen a lot of posts of people complaining and such. Looks like you need to read the FSX section a little more often.

I read the FSX section plenty... just not the threads where people have said that, obviously!

I thought people's gripe was that they couldn't run it well, no matter what settings they have.

Shocked

Blimey - an argument about what you're actually arguing about.

This has to be a first  Smiley

I like to think of myself as a pioneer. Grin

I'd just call it a misunderstanding. However, I think all the points in the original post have been made before. Many times! Grin
