Eiiic,

I get the same message: application error.
Check your videocard: my Geforce 5200 FS only has een memory of 128 MB.  But you need one with a memory of 512 MB.
I have to buy a new videocard.

Go to the FSX directory on your computer. Look for the icon 'product',  an email sign. Click on it. Click on FSinsider community. Click on 'more information' at 'what is your framerate'.  Scroll down, click on the link to 'gameadvisor ' etc. This will test your system and give you advise. It does NOT test your videocard: my system belongs to the 'top 12% computers'  - hurray! (but I can't play FSX - because of my videocard).

Succes!

I don't even have an airport  -  the message application error comes within three seconds after starting up .... As soon as I move my plane: application error - as you see, a real top 12% computer.

I've bought something I can't handle. That's my own mistake. So: iI buy an other videocard. (If I get permission from my wife...)

I'm not sure what would help. I would try updating drivers, and reinstalling Direct X. Sorry.

Also you on't need a 512mb video card for fsX.

My card's only 128MB and I'm running right now with 1GB of DDR400 RAM

You've got a problem with your install.

If you haven't installed anything else, I'd do a system restore up to when you installed FSX.

Then reinstall all of your system drivers (motherboard and graphics).

Then start over. If you've you've got damaged drivers before you install FSX you won't have a cat's chance of making it run and there's no point trying to salvage what is obviously a mess.

Do what I've said and start over. It'll be less pain in the long run and although you might not see fantastic performance (er change that to 'ytou will not...') you should at least be able to get it to run.

Heck, why should you be let off so easy when we're all getting so much pain...  Wink

Ah, that's interesting.

My drivers are up-to-date, but I will reinstall FSX and DirectX.

Who knows ...   I report the results to you.
