Aircraft selection panel (Read 665 times)

Does anyone else agree with me that the changes made to this are the most stupid ever?

Unlike our Kevin (  Smiley ) I don't have several days to put thumbnails of my addon aircraft up (and I don't need thumbnails anyway thanks - I know what they ruddy well look like)

But I've just added Rick Piper's HS748 and with a few other planes I've added as well the panel is (a) huge and (b) a total mess. It's also getting very difficult to find anything quickly.

Another example of the developeres being TOTALLY out of touch with the real users of their product IMO. The only people who would prefer the new version might be 8 year old gamers who will never add an aircraft to the sim.

Another big hand please for the beta testers!

I like the changes, much better overview and no 3d models on the initial selection screen.

Well, your still adding FS9 aircraft, people will supply there images with the aircraft once the updates are out, just give it a while.

Well I love it.  I think it's much more flexible than the old one, and when new add-ons start coming out they'll already have the thumbnail with them, so that's not an issue.

BTW, it only too a Sunday afternoon to do those thumbnails...  Wink

P.S.  I wouldn't say I was the kind of guy who would never add an add-on plane to my stable...  Wink

What was wrong with the rotating 3d model of the selected aircraft?

Sounds not that bad so far ! In FS9 I always had the problem
that the sim used enormous amounts of memory when scrolling through different aircraft that was than displayed in the 3d preview. It sometimes even crashed my sim or I had at least to restart the sim when i decided wich aircraft I wanted to fly.

Are there any other changes in the selection window.
Just to make sure Smiley you can still sort aircrafts by manufacture and type ?

I'm still not sure about this idea... I think it probably isn't a progressive move but a simple increase in eye candy. Of course it'll be the next millenia before FSX appears here in Hungary (unless the revolution really kicks off in which case we'll all be dead by next week and it won't matter anyways).....

My goodness me. The fuss some people make. What's life anyway without the odd little revolution now an again.

PS

Just make sure that if there's any blood letting none of it is yours though  Wink

You can always experiment with the Demo until then. The selection menu looks exactly the same as in Kevin's shots.

Hey, R.B., good to hear you're still kickin'

"Another big hand please for the beta testers!"

The only time I get a reply from a FSX- B.T. is when I post something really cool about FSX (like the yellow, progressive-taxi lines).

Anyway, keep those cards and letters coming . . . I'm off flying another FSX Mission   Cheesy

Sad

Bill, hadn't got onto the yellow progressive taxi lines yet.

Don't like em. Too intrusive I reckon. Like taxying along following a psychadelic shark......

BTW

I think you and Google must have made a 50-50 investment in YouTube right?  Grin
