Maybe a long shot but do you have FSX installed on the same hard drive as your OS?

If I am not mistaken the shortcut can not locate the program, maybe go into your FSX folder and create a new shortcut of the FSX.exe and try that.

My FSX is not on the same hard drive as my operting system is and it works great, But I agree that the shortcut has to be pointed to the correct place.
But FSX does not have to be installed on the same drive as your operating system is on, As a matter of fact one of the tweaks is to have FSX or FS2004 on a seperate hard drive by its self. 8)

I've had my fs2004 set up that way for a LONG time based on early tweeks found for that program.
