Quite a number of people have expressed concerns about FSX's reliance on GameSpy for their hosted multiplayer sessions.

Below is an email I received from GameSpy that explains that GameSpy has absolutely nothing to do with FSX multiplayer!!! I've highlighted the most relevant sentences in Aileen's reply in

Hopefully, this will lay to rest the mass hyteria which has seemed to grip the flightsim community over this NON-ISSUE!  MSN provides the actual Lobby Servers, not GameSpy!!

This is Aileen  Diefenbach from IGN Entertainment.

GameSpy provided the in game technology for your game, but you need to contact the game maker for support with it.

We sell coding to different game makers to allow them to easily integrate multiplayer into their games.

Our logo in the game is nothing but a brand/trademark.

You can find more information on our in game technologies by visiting

http://www.gamespy.net http://www.gamespy.net/

You should be able to find more information on how to contact the game
makers for support from the information provided to you in your game
manual.
