Listen to these two rabble-rousing morons... two posts wasn't enough to contain my ire... gggrrrrr.....there are a couple of barely-relevant points, but the delivery, as any broadcast news pro will tell you, is what really sells the "slug", or story... nonsense and all.
Same method used by con artists.
Shameless fear-mongering, complete with biased "expert" who also makes his living spouting half-baked garbage.
Hype, spin, paint red, white & blue, repeat... and watch those ratings and book sales soar.

I think it's time to place some SAM sites on the tallest of High rises in Lower ManHattan, that I think would be the cheapeast way of solving attacks against buildings. Be computer operated, so if it seeks a target within the zone, shhhhh booom. lol

Yeah, that's the ticket... the terror-Cessnas (piloted, of course, by Democrats or worse yet by "those people") would blow up in a big fireball with nothing but little sparkly bits of chaff floating harmlessly down... then all the Ewoks would dance.

Turned it off when he talks about North Korea going to a local airport and loading weapons of mass destruction into a Cessna. If they can't get a weapon small enough into a rocket with a couple of thousand pounds of thrust...........

here is one for mythbusters.
Myth: General aviation airports are incapable of self security and general aviation aircraft could likely cause damage to high rise buildings on a similar scale to september 11th.
How to:
get a cessna 172, load it to max gross with whatever hardware store - off the street explosives you can get, and rig the thing to be remote controlled, fly it into a tall building that is slated for demolition anyway and see what happens. I think what the viewers would likley see is that the aircraft would shatter to pieces and fall to the street below setting one or two offices afire just like we have seen here. end of story.
Rules for testing the myth:
1. The explosive materials have to be comprised of common every day items that anyone off the street can obtain.
2. The aircraft must be loaded within its operational performance envelope (im sure any evil doers would do this as well because what good is the mission if you cant get off the ground?)
3. all of the remote control modifications to the aircraft must be made on location at a GA airport either on the ramp or in a hangar WITHOUT anyone notifying the authorities to the activities. if the authorities are notified by anyone the myth is busted.
4. The explosive materials must be loaded aboard the aircraft either on the ramp or in the hangar without anyone notifying the authorities of the activity. again the myth is busted if the police are notified.
5. The myth will be confirmed only under the success of three conditions.
A. IF - The aircraft can be modified to be remotely controlled without anyone (other pilots, airport and ramp personnel etc) notifying the authorities.
B. IF - The explosive materials can be loaded aboard the aircraft without anyone notifying the authorities.
C. IF - The aircraft causes catostrophic structural failure of the building which in the opinion of at least one structural engineer would render the building irreparable OR the building is completely demolished on a scale equil to or similar to the september 11th attacks.

I'm not sure how relevant this comparison is as I couldn't bear to watch more than a few seconds of that video clip. I think you have to be very careful when attempting to debunk these statements. I'm on your side but could take issue with several of the points you're making. I'll concentrate on what I think is the most important.
You have to appreciate that we are now faced with a new kind of terrorist (for want of a better word). These people are so convinced of their beliefs that they are prepared to sacrifice themselves to achieve their aims. This means remote controlled weapons don't come into it. They are the guidance system & part of the bomb themselves which makes things so much easier. The main point of the argument is that it would be so much easier & far more effective to do this with a car or truck bomb than with any form of light or GA aircraft. With the will & determination to actually carry it out almost anyone could do it without needing to learn to fly first.
Unfortunately, once something has been done there's no going back. However unlikely the threat actually is, the possibility of another 9/11 will always be with us. There is also the risk of some nutter getting the idea into their head & having a go themselves. The terrorist organisations know this only too well & take full advantage of it.

Ever seen how much trouble a regular MBT has with the average highrise... the average rentable GA plane wont make a chance against anything more solid than a trailerpark cabin

just as a side note...
i only recommended remote control so jamie or adam didnt have to fly the plane into the building themselves for the sake of the show.
after all what would the world be without jamie and adam????
I wasnt referring to any possibility that the terrorists would actually attempt to remotely control one*
my suggestion comes from the impression i got from the video - that there are many people out there who think that a GA airplane could bring down a sky scraper. it would be much like chopping down a tree with a limp rope.

OK but I have no idea who Jamie & Adam are.

Before 9/11 I don't think anyone imagined that an ordinary airliner could do that. I don't think the scale of the attack comes into it & I doubt very much that this will be attempted again. Fear is the terrorists most effective weapon. A couple of well-placed car or even personal suicide bombs could bring a city like NYC to a complete standstill & cause utter havoc for several days. They don't need the complication of using any type of aircraft.
PS. At the moment it's much easier & more effective to attack targets elsewhere. You only need to read the papers to see that.
