Okay, kill me...Seems like the Italian's are keen to make money...So there I was, in my neighbouring shopping mall when I walked past the local gaming shop...I seriously had to do a double take...FSX Deluxe for €49 only?? I was like WTF!!! I thought it was due to be released on the 17 in the US...and I also know it's been released already...But I didn't expect to see it here...In case if you were wondering...FSX Standard was only €39...Just €10 cheaper...I think the shop keeper made a very grave mistake...I even asked him how much it was and was 49...So I closed my eyes and thought about it...and went ahead and purchased it...Now, the question arises...How will it run on my system...I am personally thinking of applying all those tweaks which Katahu has been graciously providing us with...I still need to fix my RAM issue before I install...so I am guessing I should have it installed by this weekend...

Cheers all,
Ashar Wink

Well, the 2nd demo ran ok on my system and seeing as your system is mostly the same as mine (you have twice the memory and a slightly better graphics card) it should run ok. It depends what you want from the program. I turned off all aircraft AI, turned off all weather, had vehicle AI at 50%, and all other sliders at 75/80% and had a playing experience that was fine by my standards. I understand this may be due to flying over islands, flying over mainland will probably decrease performance, but I do most of my flying over the Greek islands so I'll probably do alright. Anyway, try it.  If you don't like you can always uninstall it and wait until you upgrade your computer.

Quite simple explenation for all those different prices, each country has there own taxes, import costs etc. Therefore it could cost a whole lot more in some remote location in siberia then next to the factory in the USA.

Another possibility in CERTAIN locations....... is that they are illegal copies.  Sad

Market forces tend to also determine pricing.  Something is worth what people are willing to pay for it.  If no one will pay the price.... the item is not worth the price.

Well, I'm not stupid...if something is worth €79 Euro elsewhere, I am saving €30...Like it or not, I still have a valid, LEGAL copy...If I get a new rig, I won't have to run out to the store and buy it... Tongue Tongue

I stand correct on that, Ashar . . .
I missed the "FSX Deluxe for €49 only" part in your post. The  little Euro sign is not something I'm familiar with; BTW, FSX went UP ten bucks in today's flyer  Smiley

I toddled into my local software emporium at Worthing today. The shelves were stacked with both versions of FSX. Standard at £49.99 & Deluxe £59.99.

No, I didn't purchase either. Tongue
