Hi all...despite saying I would NEVER install the XP service pack 2 I have just done so as M$ are withdrawing support for SP1 as of next week...as a result I found myself downloading the FSX demo and I must say I am impressed.....enough to say I will be getting it ASAP.
..To get to the point of my post..........I don't see an aircraft folder in the main FSX folder as in FS9...........anybody else had a looksee for this folder?.....I was interested to see how the aircraft were "done" in comparison to FS9. any of you guys any comments?..........are things done so different in the new Sim I wonder?...............commoner. ???

look under the folder simObjects and all will be revealed..
It's split into Airplanes and Rotorcraft..
This is like your main Aircraft folder from fs9..
Gauges etc go into the main folders as normal..
Suggest you back them up before you start putting stuff in there..

About this new folder structure for aircrafts, has anybody tried to place the gauges of an aircrafts directly in its panel folder ? This was working well in FS9, so I would expect it to work in FSX as well, but nobody confirmed yet...
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

Looking at the folders it looks like three out of the four a/c in the demo do have the gauges (cab file) in the Panel folder. The exception being the Baron..........which are in the Gauges folder..............commoner.
