(radios are a good thing from a safety point and also they provide some good tv sound byte's:))

I agree in someways, but I think just making the driver work it out from his pitboard would be much more fun. Also, lets only have 3 buttons on the wheel - rev limiter for the pits, water button, and another which I can't think of an immediate use for...

Exactly. It's about time they had to slow down and make an effort to go round corners... Grin

After what Ferrari have done to Michael I am no longer going to be supporting them. Its amazing how quickly they forget it was Michael who brought over Ross Brawn and Jean Todt and basically those three created the team again.

That is F1, all business and no sport and Lewis Hamilton will be one to watch.

How about a big mallet that pops out of the nose and hits the car infront. No wait. thats silly. How about a oil slick dispenser?. GTA style!

F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and the teams need to be going as fast as they can on all sections of the track. little wings or not, they are pushing the boundaries of our understanding of aerodynamics every day, and more often than not, suceeding. In my opinion, it is the reduced engine sizes and the endurence limits being imposed that are holding the sport back. I understand the financial issues involved with the smaller teams but, in a way I would rather see the top 3 or 4 teams running three cars than having more teams, purely it seems, to fill up the remaing positions on the running order.

What would you rather see, 200mph+ cornering speeds or Bob and his lawnmower powered F1 car lingering 6 laps down saying to his drivers over the radio "dont worry boys, its the taking part that counts"

Just my two cents  Wink

I'd like to see overtaking for a start. More than 5 times per race... Did you watch F1 in the late 80s and early 90s? Progression is one thing, but having a sport where generally the race is decided on Saturday and during the pit stops is another.

They had the right idea last year in changing the pit stops - in a way. It should have been make them use a full fuel tank, and only change tyres in the pits, relying on the driver looking after his fuel - you don't see many retirements for "fuel consumption" any more.

It'd be nicer for teams to take a leaf out of McLaren's 1988 book too - if your car is that good, allow both drivers the full potential of it.

As I say, talented as the drivers are, too much is decided by people with computers in the pits, and now even with live data links to team HQs...

Not at all, first corner accidents and incidents are all a part of motor racing. Grin If Alonso were to some how wander across his path, it might just happen to be at the same time Felipe happens to blink, or sneeze even.

Hoooray! We go into the final race of the season without Schumacher having the option (accidentally of course) of taking out his championship rival.

I hope his engine goes again. Smiley Good he may have been, but a cheat he also was (and, judging by Monaco, he still is), and shouldn't have the privilege of retring as champion. I can't understand why people get so excited about him, unless it's similar to the "Manchester United" concept... Wink

The fact that we are witnessing a living legend, the likes we have never seen before and I doubt we will see again. Cheating or not the guy has won 91 races 89 of which were won fair and square. In my opinion its 90 because the 'incident' people seem to focus on the most was with Hill at Adelaide - Look at those pictures again and tell me that hill didnt have enough to go round that corner without contact. He was stupid enough anyway for trying anything after just witnessing schumi clonck his benneton into the wall.

As for villeneuve, well the jacka$$ had it coming and for the quali incident at Monaco, well we all make mistakes and I dont hear people in uproar against the drivers who hold up other faster drivers on their laps (Ahem Rosberg & Barrichello)

Come on schumi its still do-able

Even if he does win the title, he doesn't want it now. He said he wants to win it on the track not by default. Which I guess is understandable.

Hill went for the gap - he didn't know Schumi's car was mortally damaged already - he was taking his chance, and MSC could see that and in desparation took him out - or left him with nowhere to go.

As I've said before, that could have been a horrendous accident - thankfully it turned out relatively minor and the cars remained intact.

But they tend not to stop. On a blind corner. Idiotic and completely premeditated.

I shall not be sorry to see the back of him. He's been a big beneficiary of being the team no1 - ie no team mate has ever had an equal chance to race on a level playing field.

Hill was far too impatient in the Adelaide incident. He almost certainly would have known he had the chance to pass schumi down the straight anyway and there was no need for the attempt in the tight corner. However Michael didn't make it any easier for the situation by forcing himself onto the racing line.
Wont argue Jerez was a complete brain fart moment on his part. Monaco, who cares, he got his punishment for it. Look how costly that is now, he could have easily won that race even from 2nd or 3rd, and been maybe only 6 or 8 points behind going into Brazil. Even closer if he didn't have his racing moment in Hungary. But thats the type of guy he is, a racer and a fighter.
I guarentee you F1 will suffer for a couple of years without him. how people can deny that is beyond me, like him or hate him personally, just look at the stands, its Michael schumacher memorabilia everywhere. He is the most popular of the F1 drivers, and I am betting you half those people will just disapear after this season. What F1 needs is someone to come through and attempt to replace him. Kimi is not the answer, the guys about as entertaining as paint drying. I dont think the guys voice level has ever changed. Fernando is so full of crap you never know whether he's telling the truth or hiding something. Then who is there? seriously absolutly no one in terms of level or big name selling point.

As I said though, Hill would have had no idea if or how badly MSc was damaged, hence he went for the pass, as for all he knew, MSc may have been able to carry on regardless.

So what? The tifosi will always back Ferrari, and the Ferrari lovers elsewhere will show their true colours - are they true fans or people absorbed by the awesome marketing power of Ferrari.

The last time I went to a Grand Prix, entry cost about £40 for an adult, and a child for £5 on race day, and Silverstone was packed. Maybe if they dropped the prices, and didn't insist everyone sat in grandstands people would really get to see F1. To give you an idea of the date, everyone was wearing "Red 5" caps! - ie, not all that long ago - certainly not long enough to justify a 300% increase in prices...

The sad fact is, 70% of Ferrari fans today are only fans of theirs because of Michael. Monza, and San Marino will not notice much if any drop off as you said. But when they go to places like Germany, America, China and the others, that sea of red will be gone but those seats wont be filled until those prices are dropped. I have always respected Ferrari for their heritage. Until the way they handled this situation. Until this happend, I would have been 100% behind them next year. Sure I will still hope they are winning but I hope its Massa who has the sucess.

Ahhh, so that's the real reason why the German's have only got one GP next year! Wink Grin

As for San Marino, shame that's gone...
