Hey guys. Thanks. Here is some updated pics. I was initialy using the default as a guide. Ounce I got the model down searched some real world pics for more detail.
Yes. It will have a VC using some pics from search to build accurate VC. Although I think I'm going to change the gauge layout with FSPS to update the panel. After all this is an early to mid eighties aircraft. I do'nt think anyone will begrudge me an electronics update.
Also going to build an amphibious version with floats and gear for versatility and added fun.
Using Gmax materials in the model so that I can avoid the has light map check. This should make the aircraft more painter friendly. Tell me what you think. Thanks Greg.

Hey Rob. Thanks. just working on the VC. Not sure how I'm going to make it float yet. Do'nt know if I'll use straight pontoons or maybe something more complicated and original.

It would be cool to have something complicated and original, but straight floats would be nice, maybe from the wings instead of the fuselage

If you are going to do it on floats, make it sort of like the C-130 on floats. BIG strait floats where the gear should be and connected to the fuselage. Looks good so far, could use a little smoothing

Hey Jake. Could you provide a link for the C-130. As far as smoothing I have'nt smoothed it yet. I'll use some auto smooth before texture.

Yep. I dont think thats a REAL plane, but another example for big floats would be the XC-47, the C-47 on floats. I believe that the floats it used are the worlds biggest floats, Edo model 540s if I remember correctly.

That is a realy good looking 130 with the floats on there. One of these days I'll get some time to fly it.
Seeing that picture gave me an idea of how to do the floats on the Dash 8. I think they will extend down from the wingbox. That way they'll have good structural support and wont take away from the passenger cabin. Also I wont have to build bulges on the fuselage. It will also make for an interesting looking aircraft. Thanks again for the insperational link. Greg
