im just in the process of adding some AI aircraft to akrotiri ab. my question is, when you open the airport in afcad, how do you know where to place the parking places and taxi tracks, as you cannot see where the taxi tracks or concrete areas are in afcad- cheers

Lee Swordy -- creator of AFCADv.221 has written a great manual for his FREE program. It states in part:

"8. Using AFCAD and Flight Simulator Together
Flipping Windows:
You can start either program first. Since most people don’t have enough monitor space to have both the FS and AFCAD windows open side-by-side you can have both windows maximised, and press the Alt+Tab key to flip back and forth between them."

FSUIPC must be installed

I use both programs (FS9/AF2) in Windowed Mode and can see where the aircraft is located in the FS9 scenery while building the airport in AF2.

As mentioned in the previous post, you open both FS9 and AFCAD.

Put FS9 into "top down" view ( overhead ) and in AFCAD select
the "lock" function. That will lock the AFCAD crosshairs "+" to
the FS9 aircraft position.

What I often do is place FS9 in slew mode and move the aircraft
to the perimeter points of an area I'm interested in...i.e., the
flight deck of an aircraft carrier, and place a "+" mark at those
points in AFCAD. You can also draw temporary boundry lines
with that tool in AFCAD.
This is the way I add tarmac, taxiways, etc.
