Wow!! Really? I really must rush out and buy FSX NOT!!
Not only does the head of my FS9 Rallye pilot move, so does his body and his hands on the controls.
M(qualcosa)s have done nothing but jazz up the visuals (a little) abd added loads of teeny bop missions. It's a waste of money until 2 years down the line when our addon friends have hopefully corrected (yet again) M(qualcosa)s's shortcomings. The pic is pathetic compared to the best of FS9

Ubuntu was referring to the "camera" movement, not the visual models. Read carefully, next time.

Nice to finally see some military AI (as long as UK and all other airspace isn't full of US Military aircraft). Much more along the the lines of "as real as it gets"...

I expect this shall have a nice tickbox so you disable it too, just like with GA and Airline traffic in 2004...

So it appears MS have finally identified their target market for FS - it's solidly aimed at the 12 - 16 year olds who wet their pants when they pretend they're the hottest Top-Gun in the air force of the good ole US of A.

Thank god for 'Don't Take It Too Seriously'  Grin

Indeed! You're only kidding yourself if you want a realistic sim, with no military AI. I like to have a mix of civvie and military myself.

I just wish people would stop looking down on military enthusiasts as adolescents who have a craving to blow things up. Roll Eyes

Agree with that Smiley
I would love to see military AI escorting you when you enter a restricted airspace, that would be realistic, not kids fun.

I generally like military aircraft.  I love to blow stuff up.  But i've always been disappointed by how many games hav ruined my experience because they decide to make the game for everyone, in other words, for those who want simple controls and an easy way to win.

I want a realistic sim, where all the targetting must be done properly, starting up ur engine isn't pressing an autopilot button, and stalling can permanently put you in a spin out.

I like both civil and military aircraft, not for what they do, but how they do it.  Technology, for me, is, the key...

P.S.  I'm not childish...

I'm afraid what you want would be available only on full scale simulators that train real pilots.

"Join the Air Force...... see the world." -  "see the desert" is what it has now lightheartedly been swapped for over here... Smiley

The military sim you are looking for is Falcon 4 (with the latest updates of course)
The flight sim you want is FSX (or X-Plane)
The mix of them doesn't exist yet.... unfortunately. I would love to se Falcon 4 with upgraded graphics, clickable VC etc...

Game developers have to run a tight line between those that want an ultrarealistic experience, and those that want entertainment.  Make it too realistic, and you blow off people that just want to spend time away from busy work.  Make it too arcadish, and you blow off people that want to work for their achievements.

I think that the default aircraft in FLight SImulator generally provide a good mix of entertainment vs realism.  I can get in  my Cessna or Boeing and fly straight out, or I can get in either and really work the instruments, etc.  OF course, the main attraction of Flight Simulaotr has always been the third party add-ons that bring out the best.

Unfortunately, not everyone understands that concept. It's more like a small feud between the easily entertained people and the realism seekers while the neutralists sit in the sidelines. Roll Eyes

Then FSXI should hav two basic modes:  Arcade, and Realistic!

And u can choose which one to install: Arcade, Realistic, Both.

That would be good. Grin
