G'day, I've been playing CFS2  for a while now, but still haven't been able to master flying the stock Corsair and P38.
I know the P38 is rather heavy, and tho fast has an extremely slow turn rate - this could be my machine though.
The corsair is similar, extremely heavy turning.

don't have any trouble with the wildcat/hellcat/zero

Is the modelling on the Corsair and P38 accurate?

If not, what can be done?

cheers

Jeremy

I know the P38 is very difficult to master.I do not find the Corsair very diffcult on the other hand. Remember you have to fly the U.S. planes very differently that the Japanese planes. The are more powerful but less agile. Their turning raduis was poor compare to the Japaese. You got to learn how use your energy and be opportunistic. Use your squadron buddies to coardinate your attacks and never slow down to much. You need to conserve you energy. If you lose to much energy your bound to get shot down. Most of all be very patient and you need to learn on how use deflection shots.

Fying with this and other Sims through out the years made me realize that the war in the Pacific was not as one sided as I previouly thought. Nor was the Japanese planes as inferior.

You have to learn to use your energy wisely and forget the Horizontal arial war style of dogfight. Wait for B24 Guy overhaul P38 upgrade. May that will help you.

The Stock P38 is not a very accurate represetation of the P38 evendow the F model was the first to see combat and its performance was not the best in the P38 series.

The P38 was upgraded several times and with time it became a pretty tough opponents to its advisaries,

Their are some nice P38 around in this and other Websites that might help you as well.

Check out this post. It might help you find what your are looking for. Scroll through it.
