BUMMER B-1
(Created from a paper model template)
Actually, creating something simple like this (basically folded polygons) is a good way to start. In this case, I downloaded a paper card model and used is as the background image against which to make simple polygons which I then "folded" to shape.
Of course, this is when you start really appreciating other modeller's finesse and the power of modelling programs.
From these basic shapes, with the right modelling program, you can then continue refining the edges, adding detail, etc, etc.
Naturally, a simple boxy model like this is useful for scenery that will not be inspected too closely, or as a "test bed" for textures, etc. etc. etc.
Doing this quickie refreshes in my mind basic modelling concepts and the appreciation I have for real modellers.
