1. Dont get dead
2. Your going to hear every creek and whine out of that airplane that you never heard before
3. Do everything like you do with your instructor.
4. Pay attention to #1.

Ignore Drake...
hardly anybody ever dies on their first solo, although occasionally things get a little dicey.
But there's no need to be nervous: just remind yourself that you've gone around the patch at least once without the instructor touching the controls, or you wouldn't be signed off to solo. In other words, you've already done it... sort of. The plane will climb better and float more without the CFI's weight in there, but other than that it'll just be another flight.
Remembering this will help you relax... but savor every minute- it's a day to remember!!

yes do try and stay in between the edges of the air.
dont go near the edges
the edges can be defined by the following:
tees, rocks, ground, buildings, cars, water and interstellar space and the likes.
airplanes do not operate well in those places.
also...
if anything goofy crosses your mind like "Hmmm wonder if i can fly this thing inverted down the runway in ground effect!" just remember not to pull up while your inverted. otherwise you should be ok there.
make sure you have enough altitude to complete a "split S" without smacking the ground, as wrecking the flying machine will most decidedly piss your instructor off.
drake is right in the sense that you will notice things about your little flying machine that you never noticed before and it will almost certainly perform much better without your instructor on board so going into the vertical at Vr with full after burner / re-heaters will yield a much better rate of climb than usual.
finally...
if crashing becomes unavoidable just impact the softest cheapest inanimate object you can find as slowly and gently as possible!!!

That entire post Ritter, is awesome! lol
Screw cheap, man! Go for soft! haha
Anyway, my first instructor drilled this one concept into my brain on every single flight. "MAKE THE APPROACH END!" ie. don't crash while still flying. If you are going to hit something, make sure your firmly on the ground first. Also remember airplanes are not designed for the purpose of crashing! Impacts should only be made with the landing gear first.
Now that we've scared the crap out of you... enjoy your flight!!
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.&&&&
