getting about 1-2 fps around Princess Juliana Intl, but that's only when i look towards the island... facing the ocean i get about 12 fps...

i managed to get the water effects slider up to 2X low, however, the autogen and scenery slider need to be at sparse or less so i can get anyhing flyable

overall, my water looks great, but my ground looks like FS2004 after you just came out of 128X time accel

road traffic looks weird, i can only see the shadows of the cars, unless i get VERY close.... the same happens with some of the boats............

i haven´t seen any birds flying around yet are they even in the demo?

also, has anyone noticed the beech has no pilot?

The demo has no wildlife. Yeah, you computer is too slow for FSX.

I have the same processor, but I get around 12-18FPS constant. I have less RAM also, and a GeForce FX 5600XT (128mb).

I've turned off all autogen, but put all textures to highest, aircraft settings to highest, and water settings as high as my graphics card can handle. I also have 100% AI aircraft with ground vehicles at the airport. Turn these off, and I can also have 100% road traffic with playable frame rates.

Just going to have to reduce your settings until you get some decent results.  Make sure nothing is running in the background that doesnt need to be too!

As for the pilot, mine is missing out of the Baron too!!

i tried putting the autogen slider to max, just to see it in all it´s might, i knew it would be framecide, but i was amazed at how low it went

i got to the amazing mark of 1 fps, with max autogen, middle textures and water, on that island far away where there´s not much custom scenery...

the aircraft graphics were maxed out tho...


it got me thinking if there´s ANY computer available at this present date that is capable of having that thing fully maxed out

i mean, i was at 1 fps, so in order to get 30 fps, i´d need my machine to be 30 times faster than it is now

yet, i hear that some folks here DO have it maxed out and get nice frames as well ??? ???

how can that be, if my processor is 1.7mhz, my RAM is 1 gig, and i have 256mb of video....

i haven´t heard of any hardware more than 3 times more powerful than this..... so how is it possible to max out FSX without waiting about 10 years for computers to advance, being that moore´s law states that they double their power every 18 months ?


i must be missing something... maybe my slow processor can´t get my video card to it´s optimal performance.....

or maybe i´m dumb and i´m getting this all wrong

bleh, it´s that time of the year again, the time to GET A NEW PROCESSOR AAAAAAAARGH!!!!! 


and i know, it´s just a demo, but we can´t seriously expect that they´ll get more than 25-30 percent better frames in the final thing, can we?
