When I go to the Microsoft FS X web page I have  noticed the B777 is missing from the aircaft list..  I don't know if its a mistake or the 777 will be in the Deluxe Edition only  I love the 777..

There are freeware and payware alternatives that will work in FSX

As some of us have pointed out, you shouldn't worry about what aircraft will come as default. Microsoft normally keeps the fleet size to a minimum because they know that it is virtually impossible to include "every" single aircraft known to man in FS as default due to space requirements. Speaking of space requirements, if Microsoft included every aircraft known to man as default, can you imagine the number of DVDs needed just for the installation process? Not to mention the fact that you would need a huge amount of room in your hard drive.

Therefore, like I said and as others have pointed out, don't worry about it because there will always be a endless supply of freeware aircraft available right here in the place what we all come to know as "the internet". Wink

You do realize that what you just stated sounds just as silly as saying, "I'm not buying any professionally developed GAME CD's because I bought XBOX 360."

FS is primarily a platform, albeit software and not hardware, that happens to come with a limited set of "included content."

Freeware and payware both exist because there is a hunger for something more 'robust' and 'detailed' than the default offerings.

That has to be one of the best stated points about Flight Simulator I have seen and the one point that is ignored the most.

Flight Simulator is not and never was designed to be an awesome package that provides the user everything they would ever want in aircraft, dynamics and visuals. It is designed to be a PLATFORM for developers to figure out how to improve and add-on to it.

=====================

If MSFS had everything included... it would not sell for 40-50 or 70 bucks. Everyone would be crying because you would probably be looking at several thousand dollars ASSUMING you had the computer system to be able to actually run the simulation. In that,... the MSFS line should be:

AS REAL AS IT GETS FOR 70 BUCKS   Grin

MSFS takes into account that many users cannot afford superior computer equiptment and is designed to fit the bill for the average user.

Go check out the price of professional simulation software approved by the FAA which may deal with the dynamics but has little to be desired for graphics. They dont run that software on a Dell desktop system either.

That makes one appreciate the fact that MSFS is dirt cheap for what it does provide.

Unfortunately, no one [not even someone as resourceful as Microsoft] can make everyone happy even if they truely dedicated their own resources to making people happy. Why? Well, the answer to that question has always alluded me since I began working in a pharmacy where some patients just don't care how hard you work to provide what they wanted. Roll Eyes

Maybe everyone really is happy deep down inside and are just being pessemistic either for the purpose of making the worker work harder so that they can be more happy [Jasper, is this true in your case?] or just doing it for fun.

But then again, I have seen people [as well as up close and personal] who are just never happy [period] both outside and inside for no apparent reason. I guess those people need anti-depressants. Roll Eyes

I agree 100%. However...

...I gotta disagree with this statement. An XBOX only has content you pay for (as far as I know), and to enjoy yhe XBOX, you have to buy games. FS on the other hand, has freeware as well as payware. I see nothing silly about eurofighterlover's statement, some of us simply can't justify spending money (sometimes more than the actual sim's price) on an addon. I often look at payware and wonder how great it'd be to have that detail in my sim, then I see the price tag and realise that (in my opinion) at the end of the day, FS is just a game, and I can't see myself paying money to add a plane (detailed as it may be) to a game. Especially when there is freeware that can at times be as detailed (if not moreso) than said payware.

Now, this in no way means that I don't appreciate what payware developers do for the community. In fact, I bought a payware plane myself, but for someone like me who has no income, freeware is often the only way to go. This is just one man's opinion, however.

If the FSX 777 will be just a copy of the FS9 777 I will be very upset. Compatability doesn't look like a big problem as the visual model looks fine and you can fly the aircraft.
