I feel a little bit sad right now. Today i was at a local Airshow. They had announced the P-51 D as one among other attractions. But due to bad weather, scattered showers, low clouds, and the landing runway wet,the Pilot decided to stay away.I´m not shure if i get another chance tomorrow.Thats too bad,i´ve never seen this Plane in reality.

Not sure if it covers both days.
The P-51D is this one.

The entrance Ticket is covering all 3 Days,so why should i stay away?

Indeed. Good luck for tomorrow.
PS. I saw two Ju 52s at Goodwood early this year. Another one at Duxford Legends. Never seen one in the air before so it all comes to he who waits. 8)

Arnimon, I was also at the display, what there was of it. It is a small world. I was a little surprised by all the flying over and around the crowd line, also at the T6 Texan. When he went into a spin above the crowd I was thinking, just one more turn and it is time to make track.
I am probably going again tomorrow, bit only if the weather picks up.

I will be going again today, but arriving between midday and 13.00. I have to take the children swimming first.

Well the weather was good to us on Sunday. A full flying program. Managed meet up with Arnimon too.
Good display by two T6 Texans, Me 108, two JU 52's just to name a few (and because a can't remember!) Model aircraft flying was some of the best I have seen. The German champion did his stuff, it was amazing. Formation display by model jets, two Star Fighters and two BAe Hawks. That was the first time I have seen model jets live. The noise that they make is the icing on the cake. Sadly, the Air Bus 380 (with four model jet engines) was not there, the owner/builder/pilot was not well.
Unfortunately I left right at the wrong time. Bearing in mind I had a 3 1/2 year old with me and did not want to be in a queue with a couple of hundred other cars waiting an hour to get out. I left just before the P51 finished his display. As I got back to my car, another model jet took to the sky. It was an SR71 Blackbird. I mention this only because I was a good 300 meters away, maybe a little more. Even at that distance it was HUGE. I have no information about it. Such a large model, attract attention, does anyone know anything about it by chance?

found a Photo of this Jet Model. It weighs mor than 25kg! And needs a special Licence, from the Luftfahrtbundesamt,to fly.
Indeed,we had a very good time through the day with lots of smalltalk and some fantastic Airdisplays to watch at.And the Mustang was just...thrilling!!!Maybe i get to Duxford next year, with a little "Help" from Matt (c/o the ex-pat)
Edit; thanks a lot for the Drinks Matt!!!

I'd love to see a JU-52 up close. Question: Why does the Ju-52 have the corrugated skin? Is it for strength? ....just curious.

I don´t know exactly, but i think it depends on that. The Constructors possibly have not designed it only to look good i suppose.

Seemed to be a Junkers (commercial) trademark, starting just after WWI...
I don't know why though?
