So now that youve played it, what are your thoughts regarding purchase? Sadly for me my graphics card just isnt cut out for FSX, so I do not plan on buying it just yet. I'm going to college next year, so I only have this computer for another year and then I will be getting a nice laptop. Then I will probably buy FSX, unless the full version seems more promising for my computer.

From what ive seen, Demo=Crap. The only thing ive seen so far fsx is worth is bad fps, some nice planes and water. The ground wont even load past 1 mile for me then goes blurry. And if it wont run well on 1.5 gigs of ram and a 300 dollar video card somethings wrong with MS. So if the full is anything like the demo i will not be purchasing it.

What did you expect from a demo? A Miracle?

If I went to a Mercedes Benz garage and asked for a ride in a new sporty model coming out in 3 months, and then the doors didn't shut properly, or the roof didn't work, or none of the accessories had been fitted just because it was a 'demo', I wouldn't be impressed enough to go ahead and order one - would you?

I wasnt expecting perfection just something a little smoother than the demo is, yeesh
Edit: To add on to the Mercedes comment, i dont think they would put out something like that as a demo and i wouldnt think ms would either but low and behold

well most people will probably upgrade to fsx sooner or later...is it just me or were there arguements like this a while before fs9 was released.
YES fsx does kill the fps but what about all the stuff they've added: water, all kinds of ai, WAY beter default terain mesh, self shadowing on planes better autogen, way better default planes, better air traffic control, missions to give you something to try in your free time, nice ground textures etc. and ....ITS ONLY A DEMO.
Compared to fs2002 fs9 killed your fps (maybe not as bad as fsx compared to fs9 but fsx adds alot more features than fs9 did.) but it did that because it added new features just like fsx does.

If you really know Mercedes-Benz,you would also know that issues like the ones you suggested won´t appear any longer when the Car is officially released!

Will I buy it? Probably not.....I already have FS9 set up the way I like it, and most of my payware is older stuff, which most likely wont be updated for the new version, and even if it is I will probably have to pay for it again for the updated version. I enjoy FS9 because I love flying, and it isnt important that I can look around and see birds, and other animals, moving ships, and moving cars. Flying isn't about dropping sacks of flour on targets, or having to have an objective to WIN the game, and when it is taken to that level all it is is just a game. When you take off and arrive safely from point A to point B then you have won the game.....

The actual thing will be much better. I also wasnt totaly satified from the demo but i know M$ will have a better sim when it finally realeased for real

I'm definitely not getting it, for a few reasons.
For one, the deluxe version is
far
too expensive, and the cheaper version isn't really worth it since it'll be missing a lot of stuff.
I also just finished recieving a new rig (of average performance), and I'm not about to go buy a whole new one (or blow more cash on upgrades) just to run
one
game.
FSX is neat and all, but I can't warrant the small fortune I'd have to pay just to run the thing.

You're forgetting all the improvement FSX is bringing -> new flight model, new earth, high altitudes, new flying impression due to head movements, better VCs, better graphics, animated airports, greater details etc....
Think about getting your payware liner to a gate in FSX, with all the vehicules moving aroud for luggages, fuel etc??
Also, I would be very surprised that payware craft maker would not release a FSX compatibility patch for their products for free... but you may be right... well that would be weird, though...
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?
