I posted this in another thread but I'd like more people to see it so here goes...

Often we don't get many responses for our shots, and sometimes it can be disappointing. I thought it might be a good idea if it were commonly acceptable, not just in polls (which can really make the forum look bad) but generally, to simply respond to posts with a number, eg, you would write '8' as your response.

If you want people to grade your pic (in the freeware forum too) simply write in your post - please grade my shot from 1 - 10 on composition.

If you want, you can write more as a response, but you don't have to. If you write 1 then it might be good manners to say why... or simply not give a grade if the shot is worth less than 'average'.

This way we would maybe get more feedback for our shots - people find it hard to think of something original for each set they see, so they just don't respond. If it were acceptable to write a number, people might do it more - just reply and write the no - you can do that all the time.

Check out this pic of a 'Boeing 747'  Cheesy on another website which includes a grading system within it's script. Look at the picture, then scroll down. Everyone gives points to the shot...

Just an idea....what do people think?

If you want, as an experiment, you are welcome to grade my latest colour edits. Here...

sounds really good to me. just want to highlight, as you said, we may have to grade the pic ONLY if we are called for...

also, may be good to give a short comment unlike on the site you used for example where people only gave a mark and that's it.

I mean if one ask for grading it's most probably for self improvement purposes not for self satisfaction, then if you grade my shot 6/10 it may be good to tell why 6 and not 7 or 5

good point krigl
