Krigl came up with this suggestion a while back....put up any pic you like in your own "Rate This Pic!" thread and see how well it does in a poll...here's the first offering, so
"Rate This Pic!"
Of course everyone's encouraged to comment on how they would have done this pic differently..
Calculating your average score is easy...let's say you get four 5 point ratings and five 8 point ratings: multiply 4 x 5 = 20 then 5 x 8 =40, add the totals of each 20 + 40 = 60, then divide 60 by the number of scores you're calculating..in this case it's 9 (4 votes + 5 votes) Your average score is 6.66

I would prefer if the aircraft's wings were level. That way it would be level with the horizon and more symetrical.
The prop circles don't look too impressive.
On simviation you have a limit on resolution and size so it is difficult to take killer screenshots.

Sorry guys, but I really think it's a quite poor shot, I'm the one who rated it 4.
-When you have these "plane far away" shots, it's a good thing to have spectacular scenery, clouds or someother main thing. Here, there's really nothing.
-In my opinion Cirrus clouds look best at around 40,000 feet, small thing though.
-The shot needs some movement/action, a hard left bank combined with some fisheye would've look great, especially if you'd have been just a bit closer, not much, just so some of the detail would've been visible.
-The lightning indicates that the sun is just around the corner, that makes me wanna see it!
Just my opinion.

Everyone set up their own poll with their submitted pic.

8...
I gave it an 8 because I find the background beautiful - it's a quiet shot, not an action shot. The plane should be a bit closer though, while keeping the background the same. Nice one Clip!
I'm glad you're trying out my idea, but I must say that I was thinking more on the lines of simply responding to posts with a number, eg, you would write '8' as your response. This is instead of having a poll, which looks bad in the forum if everyone does it. Simply write in your post - please grade my shot from 1 - 10 on composition.
If you want, you can write more, but you don't have to. This way we would maybe get more feedback for our shots - people find it hard to think of something original for each set they see, so they just don't respond. If it were acceptable to write a number, people might do it more - just reply and write the no - you can do that all the time.
Check out this pic of a 'Boeing 747'
on another website which includes a grading system within it's script. Look at the picture, then scroll down. Everyone gives points to the shot...

Just an idea....what do people think?
I'm posting it seperately as well so people can see it - don't worry, you're not seeing double...
