I don't know, but so-far, I haven't seen any pics where you can see self-shadowing in the VCs.  Has anyone got any info on this?

If there arent any for the VCs, then at least Microsoft is providing it for the exteriors. Remember, this is the first time they put it this stuff.

So, I think that if they can do it on the exterior, it shouldn't be too hard on the interior...  I think...  (I don't know if they spent like a month or two trying the self-shadowing...) Tongue

With the SDKs that will come with the FSX, I'm pretty optimistic that at least one addon developer could provide the VC shadowing. Addon developers always come through. Wink

Thats only assuming that the self-shadowing is in the modelling.  If its actually in the game engine, then we gots a problem...

It's a combination of specifying the use of a fresnel ramp texture in the model's Materials, and creating the fresnel ramp texture in Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, or whatever paint program one has.

How do you know this?  Articles, or a guess?

If thats how its done, that there should be no problem for ACES to implement it...
