I was eating lunch today and I heard this big 'ol radial coming towards me. I went outside to look and there was this dark-olive green plane. Kind of looked like an Aeronca, but with a radial engine, and twin stabilizers. It was headed north, so I'd assume it was headed to Old Rhinebeck Aerodome. Any ideas? It really has me stumped.

Was it one of these?

...

If so, its a Max Holste MH-1521 Broussard, a postwar French aircraft...

Very well could be. Matches the description perfectly.

Maybe it had been to Oshkosh. Popping into Old Rhinebeck to say hello.

Lots of them are in cilvilian hands in Europe, I'd expect in the US too - it's quite a practical aeroplane... Smiley

For example this one lives in New jersey.
