Im typing from a laptop on a wireless connection form a dorm room so I've been a bit slow on updates Wink

So, I got to see the FSX exibit today and it was pretty cool! They were previewing the Beta version but still! (pictures to follow)

So some things i learned:

1) FSX will probably be out this october.
2) In multi-player mode, you will have three options, 1. Normal player, 2) Tower mode, 3) co-pilot. now, thats nothing new....but you have to have the Deluxe version to be a tower.
3) No aerodynamic smoke....Sad
4) There will be a Civil Air Patrol Maule. Cheesy
5) The deluxe version will contain more aircraft and missions.
6) They started working on FSX in Spring of 2003

I know alot more but that will have to wait.

I'm so happy. Grin

So let me guess, FS2004 was more like an experiment, correct? Grin

Did you get a chance to try it out?  I'm probably going up this weekend and the first thing I wanted to do was see if I could try FSX. Grin

Oh yeah, a few more things.

1) The Default oshkosh scenery is incredible!
2) They have/will fix the Heli dynamics.
3) i noticed on the Aircraft selection page that there are now thumbnails and not rotating models.
4) in-game, to switch your aircraft, it is know under a sub-folder called "FS obejects" I asked him what else was in the sub-folder but he said I'd have to wait to find out.

the pics aren't that great...I took alot of pics but most of them came out fuzzy. And then, once againits beta so i only picked good shots....all 4 of them.. Roll Eyes

Pick your place.
...

Ready to go. Oh, and While the aircraft rotates, there is actually music playing in the background...quite lively music.
...

Hmmm....might want to pick a water runway.....
...

Allthough you cant see it, there should be a runway there. The reason for the missing runway.....Beta....Roll Eyes
...

You can obviously see what compression has done to me....(that sounds like a song...)

But yeah so far it is looking good.

A Microsoft Employee told me that the ATC will still talk kinda like "sal". I actually met one of the voice talents. Cheesy

Thanks for the pictures Smiley

I don't know if it's an effet of the photo, but in the first Beaver shot, it really looks fantastic. The textures are photo-realistic, and the new shadows do the rest of the work... Seems like finally we will spend some time with default aircrafts, don't you think ? Wink

The have aeroshell sqaure with several planes on display, and if you crank the setting way up, the General laviation parking actually is filled to the brim! It's really cool!
