Just started playing CFS3, when I try to warp to next action (pressing x), I occasioanally  get the message "Warp Disabled"
I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong or how to re-enable the warp function ???

Go to the start menu, program files, Microsoft Games, CFS3,  Run CFS3Config.

Open that and then click "file" then "custom settings."

Then click where it says "window" and select "overrides".

Then uncheck the box that says "Disable Time Compression."

That should fix the problem.

On the other hand (I failed to read the post correctly) the warp disabled feature kicks in because you are too close to enemy aircraft to continue. Either run in the opposite direction intill your tactical display is clear of enemy aircraft or destroy the enemy aircraft and you'll be able to warp again.

But in this case there would be an information text that tells you about this fact?

I can't remember correctly (it's been a while since i've played CFS3) but doesn't it drop out of warp when you're near your target?

Hi all, thanks for your replies, yes it does seem odd that sometimes the text will say "You can't leave, there are enemies nearby" and another time it will just say "Warp disabled"
It must have something to do with proximity of the enemy targets perhaps.

Anyway Woodlouse, will try your suggestion next time I encounter this problem, hopefully that will fix it.

Thanks again Smiley

Warp disabled is a status that can be decided in the mission script.
If you use the mission builder, you can see that each waypoint has a little box you can fill to disable warp.
Having those little boxes filled is very useful because it stops you taking off, hitting warp and then arriving over the target with no time to prepare your attack.

However, what should normally happen when flying a mission is that when you set warp and then arrive at a waypoint where warp is disabled, you come out of warp and get the "warp disabled" message.  If you wait for the message to vanish, and then hit the warp key, you'll be immediately put back into warp to the next waypoint.
The main reason for not being able to re-access warp, is (as stated by the other posters), if "there are enemies near", and you'll get a message to that effect.

I believe that another reason for being unable to re-access warp is if your aircraft is seriously damaged, and therefore wouldn't be able to get to the next waypoint if flown in real time. But I'm sure you get a message to that effect too.
