This one includes photos taken at the Canadian Aviation Expo. In my opinion, I believe that having two different version is helpful in terms of allowing users who are in a tight budget to get a more affordable version while it's likely that addon developers might go and buy the deluxe version for the SDKs.

The deluxe version will most likely just be more expensive and the "standard" version wil not get any cheaper.

I often use it as a reference manual even now, with FS 2004... ...!

I spent many hours curled up in bed studying the FS 2000 Manual in between practising the various instructions in the Sim, when I purchased the Sim.

I still refer to the FS 2000 Manual, and the Pro Pilot manual even now, as well as borrow the Aircraft instruction books at my local Library for all the technical details.
It enabled me to master the Sims quickly, without having to constantly ask questions on various Forums... ...!

All the flight dynamics are there, listing the dangers of flying outside of the safe envelope, together with full details on the flight controls, (Throttle, Mixture, Propeller), description and design of the flying surfaces, use of the trim controls, understanding and operating the radios, and using them for navigation, including Radio Beacons,...etc, etc....full of illustrations, to study in your own time...all in the FS 2xxxx Manual.......!

But I still have my CFS manual, and it is comparable.  Very nice, about 200 pages, lots of interesting information on aerodynamics, air combat, and even comprehensive historical information of some Aces during the war and the various aircraft, aircraft weapons and armaments, and much, much more

I'd rather buy the deluxe version,as all the extra features would be pretty cool.
(slightly off-topic- I hope someone makes a freeware L1011 for FS X,as I had a lot of fun in FS2004 with a freeware L1011.)

Somewhere in the articles it states that the deluxe version would also have the SDKs. Just like FS2002pro did.

I remember, when I was young, I loved Aeroplanes (no, not airplanes, aeroplanes.  thats how it should be spelt).

I used to play a game called 'Chocks Away', on an old archimedes BBC computer.  It was great fun, not realistic graphics, but then that would spoil the expierience...

When my family moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, we finally got ourselves a proper windows-based PC.

After a while, my dad decided to look for any flight simulators and a decent joystick.  What do'ya know, he found Flight Simulator 98 and a Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital.  I flew around, managed to land a 737 around chicago, and I had great fun!

To this day, I still wonder... ???

WHERE THE HELL WAS MY MANUAL?!!!!!!!!!!!!
