I did a repaint of Mike Stone's GA8 Airvan in MSPaint (all I got) and it doesn't show up. I am very familiar with aricraft.cfg editing and I don't think that's the problem but just for you to check the entry is

[fltsim.1]
title=Gippsland GA8 Airvan
sim=airvan
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=camo
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=N3041M
ui_manufacturer=Gippsland
ui_type=Airvan
ui_variation=Camo
description=Several years after production of the 182 ceased, Cessna brought it back as the S model. While a number of enhancements make it a step forward in development, the 182S retains the remarkable characteristics that have made the 182 a popular airplane: power, stability, and good load hauling capabilities. The Skylane 182S is an ideal airplane for pilot training. If you're new to flying, you'll find Rod Machado's flight lessons in the 182S very helpful.  You'll find them in the Flight Simulator 2000 Pilot's Handbook. For enhanced instrument flight rules (IFR) panels, choose the 182S IFR. See the Aircraft Information section of Help for tips on flying this aircraft.

atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=

The file name is texure.camo and if any of you need the folder I'd be glad to send you it.

Thanx for the help
Andrew

I'm guessing it was the title= line, not being unique?

Have you saved the bitmap to the same format as the original? Can affect it if you haven't saved it to the right format.

E.g. If the original BMP is 32bit, save it as 32bit.

1. Check the [fltsim.x] number.

2. Check the "texture=" entry.

Other than that, should show up, unless the textures are in the wrong format, like Tweek suggested.

There's an entry for it in the Select Aircraft menu, so that bit is working.  Next, check your spelling carefully.  If there's a typo in the file name, or the aircraft.cfg file is looking for something that doesn't exist, the bitmap won't be found and you'll get a gray Cessna instead.
