Ok guys, time for another review on what we have just learned and confirmed.
1. As confirmed by the FSX video released by M$, the 99,999ft barrier is no longer in effect. This feature alone can attract a lot of regular simmers who have grown severely tired of being limited by this barrier. Check out the following link to see the screenshots of Orbiter and compare it to the video. You will notice the similarity in height.
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=FSX;action=display;num=114...
2. As seen in figure A [see below], there is definately no way FS9 with payware scenery can look better than FSX default scenery. So all you people out there who say FS9 looks better, I like to see some concrete proof. The shot in figure B shows how FSX looks when running under XP and DX9. Notice that the water reflections don't bleed nor stretch like the water in FS9 and that they reflect the sky in the exact way.

Figure B
3. According to M$, a mission editor has been implemented to allow users to create their own missions. In case you don't like the default ones. Mission editors are common in Orbiter and IL-2 series.
4. Here is an article that gives more insight about FSX. Read it and read it carefully before you jump to conclusions. According to the article, FSX would most likely be released this "winter". To us americans, winter reminds us of Christmas.
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/microsoftflightsimulatorx/news.html?sid=6150936&m...
5. It is confirmed by the article that M$ will make FSX initially compatible for XP and DX9 and will release a free "update" when Vista and DX10 comes out.
6. It has already been known and confirmed that the multiplayer function has been improved.
7. Again, read the article carefully before jumping to conclusions.
That should clear things up.

So to get the graphics and flight dynamics of FSX, which according to the hype are a logarithmic improvement on FS9 I will have to purchase Vista with Dx10 and a new graphics card?

Would you rather fly over a block-like landscape and watch square clouds like FS98 then? The last time I checked, FS98 was considered a major improvement when it first came out.

I just worry that my comp won't be able to cope with all the detail (which it definatley won't
)
I'm just going to get a DVD reader and FSX for now.
Then later, when NVidia or ATI come out with a new graphics card, I'll buy that, and When Vista comes out, I'll get that too.
Simple, dont have to get everything at once, cuz what is todays top graphics card, is the day after tomorrows outdated piece of junk.
