I'm still working on my P51D repaints. Its my first so a learning experience.
This one isn't too far from finished. I need to look into alpha channels, and add a little wear and tear. But its coming along OK I think.
After getting a little inspiration from the various tiger stripe paints there are around I decided to try my hand at one. Painting those stripes eats up the hours! Still no sure on which direction to head as far as painting the wings and stuff tho.
This is a preliminary version:
specs: Intel 1.6@2.4, 500Mb RAM, GeForce 4600Ti, 2x 80Gb Seagate. Dell 24

Once you learn to do repaints (and it looks like you've got the hang of it already), you open up a whole new world of flight sims. How many times have you looked at someone else's creation and thought, nice plane but I wouldn't have chosen that paint job? A quick browse through an aircraft book is all you need to get you started (hands up who has the biggest aviation library?)
Excellent work, be sure to post the results here on SimV when you're done so others can download them!

"After getting a little inspiration from the various tiger stripe paints . . . "
then there's always the alternate tiger stripes and a bullet-proof repaint:
